What is Periodontology?
This branch of dentistry aims to treat gum disease and tooth suppression, most often affected by the accumulation of bacterial plaque. Untreated, these conditions lead, in time, to the formation of periodontal pockets or to gingival retraction, which, in time, causes tooth loss.
How do you know if you need such treatment
The first symptoms of a periodontal disease are bad breath and bleeding gums. In more advanced stages, you can notice that the gum has withdrawn or that the teeth become mobile. Another indicator of such a condition is chewing pain.
